With warm, dry conditions continuing across Cheshire, residents are asked to take extra care when enjoying the countryside. Grass verges, fields and other vegetation can become extremely dry and a small flame or discarded barbecue can quickly start a fire.
Please avoid disposable barbecues or open fires in dry areas, dispose of cigarettes carefully and take litter home with you. Anyone who discovers a fire should move to a safe location and call 999.
Worleston and the surrounding hamlets of Poole, Reaseheath and Asta-Juxta-Mondrum offer some wonderful opportunities for walking and enjoying the local countryside.
Residents and visitors are reminded to follow the Countryside Code – keep to public rights of way, leave gates as you find them, take litter home and keep dogs under effective control, particularly around livestock. Please also take extra care when walking on rural roads where pavements may not be available.
